Naga rally for the Christian victims of Orissa

The Christian Forum, Dimapur has resolved to hold a prayer rally for the Christian victims of Orissa on September 7 at City Tower, Dimapur, reports NNN. The forum has requested Churches, Ministries and Institutions to gather at the tower at 12 noon on Sunday to pray for the victims. Meanwhile, Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has urged Orissa Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik to control the communal violence in the State and take necessary action to protect the lives and properties of minorities. In a letter addressed to the Orissa Chief Minister last evening, Rio expressed concern at the atrocities being perpetrated against the Christian community and damage to Christian institutions. Referring to the situation in Orissa’s Kandhamal district, Rio reminded his Orissa counter part against the religious fundamentalist targeting innocent and uncivilized attacks that are being perpetrated against Christians and Christian institutions in the country, especially Orissa.

Mautam concert

IMPHAL, Aug 31:As the financial aid provided by the Government and NGOs are not enough to fight mautam famine, Committee on Mau-tam Famine Aid (COMFA) will organise a concert on September 5 at Rayburn College, New Lamka. A relief mobilization programme will also be organised from September 2 to 4.
