Lamka, Jun 2: The Kuki National Front Zougam today celebrates its 4th anni- versary somewhere in Chu-rachandpur district in the company top ranking leaders from various armed out- fits under the KNO banner.
Addressing on the occasion at KNO’s Zion Camp, C-in-C of the KNF (Z) hails the pains undertaken by his fellow comrades in other outfit to evade their total annihilation. It is with your assistance and co-operation that we are what we are today, he said amidst the cheer of more than a dozen C-in-Cs under KNO and their respective cadres.
On ransom serves by the outfit, he said, ‘‘it is not an intimidation, but a petition after duly taking into account the expectation we confide in.’’
Village chiefs, social and political leaders, and a good number of student repre-sentatives have also turn- up for the celebration.
KNF (Z), on of the several armed wing of the KNO shares the ideology of its parent body, the KNO and is vying for political status which they claimed is due to them. Incidentally, the KNO for now, according to its Defense Secretary TS Haokip is run by the President in which his orders were supreme. Their aspiration however remains with democratic principles and the same will reign once they achieved the political status they have been fighting for. Now that the Govt of India has realized the objectives of various tribal armed groups, ‘we will receive what is due with us sooner or later’, he said.
