Delimitation irregularities

IMPHAL, Jul 28: Village Authority Council Association, Tousem sub-division has submitted a memorandum to Chairman of District Council Delimitation Committee, Ch Birchandra Singh asserting that the delimitation process was completed in the sub-division without any consultation with the individuals, civil organisations and concerned MLAs of the area. Stressing on the significance of natural boundaries, the association also urged the Delimitation Committe to take into account of all natural boundaries in the sub-division.

Reacting to a news item pulished in a local daily on July 25, Village Authority Chairman Council asserted that some self styled public leaders have given wrong information to media and concerned officials for personal gains. The council rectified that there would be neither incursion nor exclsion for Jampi (Konphung) from existing constituency. The council also rejected the exclusion of Takou from Konphung segment and other irregularities as well.

Kadi United Village’s Authority Council also rejected the draft delimitation notification of July 15 in which Kadi II is seperated from from Kadi I, III and IV.

Bandh supported

IMPHAL, Jul 28: Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) general headquarters in a cabinet meeting today resolved to support the 24-hour Statewide bandh called by All Manipur Hills Elementary School Teachers Association condemn- ing the Government’s order to discontinue extension of grant-in-aid to 171 schools.

Meanwhile, Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long in a press release infromed that the organisation would support the 24-hour bandh called by All Tribals Physically Handicapped’s Association starting from 6 pm of July 29.
