IMPHAL, Jul 27: As decided in the joint meeting held on July 29, All Tribal Physically Handicappeds’ Association (ATPHA) will call a total bandh in Chandel, Churachandpur, Tamenglong, Senapati and Ukhrul districts from 6 pm of July 29 to 6 pm of July 30. The bandh was called as the Government failed to respond positively to the demands of the association, said a press release. The association said that their demands include financial assistance, unemployment allowance, issuance of disabled certificates at district headquarters, trave- lling fare concession, instituting of State Channelising Agency (SCA).
Meanwhile, as the Government failed to respond positively to the demand of All Manipur Hills Government Aided Elemen-tary Schools Teacher Asso- ciation, Manipur the asso-ciation will call State wide 24-hour bandh from 6 am of July 30. The demand of the association is to review the order of the State Govern-ment that discontinued grant-in-aid to 171 schools. The association in a press release sent out today said that it would also support the agitations scheduled to be taken up from August 1.
