IMPHAL, Dec 27 :The agitation launched by the JAC of AMGEO and AMTUC to press the State Government to implement the 6th Pay Commission among other demands is set to assume a bigger proportion with employees from departments which come under the essential services set to participate in the said stir.
The JAC launched the agitation from November 27 this year, demanding among other things the implementation of the 6th Pay Commission. With the State Government yet to officially give the go ahead to the implementation of the new pay commission, the employees of the State Health and Family Welfare Department have closed down the OPD at the JN Hospital for three days with effect from today.
The employees have also decreed that if a solution is not brought within the said three days period, they would intensify their stir from January 2 next year. If still nothing positive comes out then they would start discharging in-house-patients from the hospital from January 3. If the Government still does not budge by then, they would close down the Casualty and Emergency Wards of JN Hospital.Source: The Sangai Express
