NCP candidate LB Sona has already filed his nomination paper.
Meanwhile, notification for the second phase of polls (Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency) scheduled for April 22 has been issued today.
According to the notification issued by the CEO, the last date for filing nomination papers is April 4 while date of scrutiny has been fixed on April 6.
The last date for withdra-wal for candidature is April 8. Polling hours is from 7 am to 4 pm, it mentioned.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, Valley Rose said that her primary agenda would be establishment of social harmony in the State inhabited by different communities.
She asserted that she is contesting the election as an independent candidate for she despises divisive roles played by different po-litical parties amongst the people.
On her other agenda, Valley Rose also said that she would work for revocation of AFSPA from the whole of Manipur, monitor illegal immigrants and prevent illegal immigrants from exercising electoral franchise and contesting elections, enforcement of a Revenue Act in hill districts where traditional system of land management is in practice, seek people’s consent before taking up any development work and rectify prevailing system under which electorates of the seven Assembly segments of Thoubal district and Jiribam are not permitted to contest elections even though they are allowed to cast votes.
Valley Rose, Editor of the Tangkhul daily The Aja contested Outer Lok Sabha seat in 1989 and 1996 and for Phungyar A/C during the Assembly elections held in 2007 but without success.
She said that her election campaign will be kicked off once she is allotted her election symbol.
On the other hand, BJP candidate Loli Adanee was the closest rival to the eventual winner Mani Chare- namei in the previous Lok Sabha elections
Achinpou Gangmei, Adani’s supporter said, “We will kick off our formal election campaign on April 2 at Senapati district Hqs and thousands of people are expected to attend the kick-off function.

KRA sets record straight on KRF

IMPHAL, Mar 28: The Republic Government of Kuki- gam/Kuki Revolutionary Army (RGOK/KRA) has denounced the claim of the central PRO of Kuki National Front (KNF) that it has no connection with the KRF any more as ‘totally baseless and ridiculous’.
Talking to mediapersons somewhere in Sadar Hills area today, information and publicity secretary of RGOK/KRA T Simte asserted that the statement made by the self-styled central PRO of KNF (P) Ronel Kuki during a press conference on March 25 and the report of which was published in media on March 26 edition was simply a justification but not a fact.
Stating that KRF was founded under the protection of KNF (P) on Decem- ber 13, 2008 at Somphung village although Ronel Kuki claimed that KNF (P) played the role of a mediator during the armed clashes between KRA and KRF in May/June 2008, Simte observed that what is surprising and fun-ny here is how KRA and KRF could have armed cla-shes in May/June, 2008 before the formation of KRF. So the statement of Ronel Kuki was not just confusion but also self contradictory, Simte said, adding that as per he SoS ground rules, formation of KRF by KNF (P) was unacceptable to RGOK/KRA in particular and UPF in general. RGOK/KRF respects and enforces SoO ground rules and therefore none of its cadres move out of their temporary camp. So taking advantage of the /KRA’s silence, KRF was founded under the patronage of KNF without the knowledge of RGOK/KRA, Simte alleged, while questioning if KNF (P) had expelled KRF way back in December 2008, then how come the KRF cadres have taken shelter at Haipi village which is the tactical headquarters of KNF (P) hitherto.
The encounter that took place between 36 AR personnel and combined forces of KNF (P) and KRF at Haijang village recently was a consequence of the failure of the KNF (P) to implement the SoO ground rules and the proof of this fact is that Haijang village falls under the operational area of KRA, Simte asserted.
Simte has also asked the authority concerned of KNF (P) to expel KRF immediately and not allow the armed cadres of KRF to remain in the operational areas of KNF (P) and KRA in order to maintain mutual understanding between KNF (P) and KRA as well as with UPF.
