KCP(MC) bans private hospitals/clinics

Imphal: While claiming responsibility for placing two explosive devices at the premises of Imphal Hospital and Research Institute last evening, the proscribed KCP (MC) has proclaimed ban on private hospitals charging these medical centres and doctors enrolled in its pay-list of solely concentrating on accumulating wealth at the cost of economically unsound patient parties.

In a statement issued by information and public relations officer of the outfit Puranthaba, the KCP (MC) charged Imphal Hospital management and doctors of allegedly disregarding repeated warnings.

Rather than honouring KCP's intimations and subsequent hints to accord seriousness to the outfit's suggestions the Imphal Hospital management deployed police commandos in civies with the obvious reason to cause harm/eliminate KCP activists, the publicity officer maintained besides charging the management of setting up certain individuals to contact KCP-MC's higher-ups posing as an RPF/PLA member.

The individual who made telephone call to the KCP leaders is said to have claimed patronage of the RPF/PLA and championing cause and development of the private medical institute in addition to sternly warning not to interfere on any matter concerning the hospital.

Asserting that like the Imphal Hospital management other private medical centres established in the State had been undermining sincere suggestions of the KCP-MC with regard to medical fees, Puranthaba highlighted that with medical practitioners lured with hefty sums in private hospitals, poor patients are deprived proper treatment due to negligence at Government run-hospitals as the doctors are more interested in serving their private employers (private clinics/hospitals) .

With Government doctors consequently devoted to bettering service of private hospitals there is lack of experienced medical practitioners to cater to need of the poor patients, the KCP functionary maintained to justify the outfit's indefinite ban on functioning of private medical centres with immediate effect.

Regarding bomb attack at the Tera Khuraijam Leikai residence of Executive Engineer Keisham Ramkumar Singh, Puranthaba said it was a precusor of the armed group's plan to target many more Minor Irrigation Department officials/employees for denying shares due to the KCP (MC) organisation.

Puranthaba also owned the bomb attack at the Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai residence of Dr Chingtham Bilashini Devi w/o Dr Ch Chandramani charging the reknown medical practitioner of disregarding financial assistance sought by the outfit.

Rejecting Dr Bilashini's conveyance of handing over Rs 3 lakh to the outfit's Puranthaba, the publicity officer (Puranthaba) demanded that Dr Bilashini identity/produce that particular individual within two days.

The KCP-MC also asked parents/elders of one Nandeibam Greson Singh alias Michel s/o N Jugindro Meitei of Patsoi Part-I to prevail over Greson to immediately cease extortion activities misusing KCP-MC's name.

Greson is alleged to be operating from jail.

Moreover, Puranthaba accused Boney alias Chingkhei of Wangkhei Ayangpalli Road, Laiba of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi, Warish of Lilong, wife of one K Rajesh alias KC Meitei Mrs Dolly from Churachandpur of acting against the interest of the KCP-MC through nefarious activities such as extracting benefits from Government departments.

K Rajesh, who hails from Thinungei is said to be currently lodged in Mizoram jail along with Dolly, according to the KCP-MC statement.

Contending that 'supreme committee' of the KCP-MC after thoroughly investigating into cases of gunning down immigrant workers in different parts of manipur has come to know that Rajesh directed the brutal murder of the daily wage earners, Puranthaba conveyed that action to be initiated against Rajesh would be announced at the earliest.
