UNLF rocket attack killed three children, says KSO

IMPHAL, Jul 20: The KSO Chandel district has vehemently condemned the
unprovoked rocket attack by the underground UNLF at Phaisanjang (Yangoulen)
village which claimed the lives of three children and injured two more on
July 19 at around 5 pm. According to the KSO the attack was without any
rhyme of reason as the villagers had no qualms with the insurgents. The
three children who were killed were identified as Pasak, 6, son of Tonga,
Jamhao, 10, son of late Onkholet and Thulungmawi, 5, daughter of Ate. The
injured children are named Baby Tinneilam, 4, daughter of Thangzapao and
Jamminsei, 7, son of Ate. The latter's hand was severed from the body when
hit by the missile.

The KSO has also condemned the kidnapping of two villagers - Seilal, 56, and
Ngulkai, 20, of New Samtal and Lajang village respectively by the same
militant group on June 22 this year. The KSO has appealed to the responsible
group to release the persons unharmed at the soonest.
