Taking a clue from the report published here in some local dailies on 19 April, 2009, the foundation said a two member commi-ttee was commissioned to verify the veracity of the incident.

The committee report concludes that the well-armed men ranging between 80-100 in numbers were based in Myanmar and in-truded into the Indian terri- tory, it said and maintained that Lamlianlal was indeed kidnapped, whisked away and held captive by them.

They also whisked away another five villagers that gathered to trace the where-abouts of Lamlianlal in the wake of his detention and tortured them with all of them sustaining several injuries. It also identified the five villagers as Chinsuan, Vungsonpau, Chinlam, Gousiam and Chinsuan-mung.
