Is Manipur on a journey back to its Shana Leibak

By : Sominyar Awungshi

Whoever’s endeavour it may be, it is undeniable that the previous and the present government of the state had brought about some changes to the land which is worth to appreciate by all human kind.

It was observed as the natural phenomena in Manipur that, whenever a state level competitive exams are conducted every students body, from all corner, would raised their voice against the government on various reasons like, Mark tempering, violation of reservation sits etc. Of course anybody would say that these are all the result of the corrupted practices among the high key post holders in the governing bodies. In fact such an evil elements in the state has been the main factor where thousands of student were humiliated and discouraged to the extreme and parents are forced to suppress their hopes against their children.

At the mid of such a dark situation it was hard to believe that the recent recruitment of MBBS (2006) and the selection of the graduate and under graduate teachers were done purely on merit basis of the young candidates. In fact, such a fairly hand of the government had never experienced or witness in the past. Apart from all these the conduct of the last MCS exam had made people to complete their confidence and further believe that bribery and corruption has, at last, no place in the land of Shana Leibak.

This is the real change, and this is the deference that people longed for, back from generation to generation. I personally view that one can send a message of congratulation to Shri Okram Ibobi Singh for such an unbelievable and unexpected achievement during his tenure as the state Chief Minister.

I further viewed that this is not simply an achievement but something like a new invention for the state which gives a new world and a new place to all the citizens. Widows and poors in the far county hills and valleys are now endorse by a hope of new living. Their confidence are reestablished with the hope that the labour of their sons and daughters shall no longer be remained priceless but would have its own share on this earth.

Due to her disadvantages in many areas, Manipur seems remained under estimated by the rest of the world especially in the economic sector. However, it is believe that the present approach of the government and the people, inclusive of all ranges, to attend the true meaning of life will certainly produce the fruit of fame and dignity one day which can be a lesson to all creatures in this planet. Let Manipur remain as the land of rich, poor and the weak.
