An influential Hmar leader T Lhangkhum has been arrested by a team of Mizoram police from his residence at Lalpani, Cachar, Assam today, reports our Jiri correspondent. He has been taken to Mizoram. The reason for the arrest could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report. Lhangkhum is the founder of the Cachar People’s Forum.

KRA (U) raises a series of posers
IMPHAL, Sep 8: Expressing surprise over the press statements issued on September 6 allegedly by KNO and some self-styled activists of KRA (U), publicity secretary of KRA (U) Lenin Ch has raised a series of questions demanding the self-styled activists to come out with answers for the public to know.
Asking whether ex-Minister C Doungel has founded the KRA (U), Lenin demanded to know if the KNO and the selft syled KRA (U) have ever come out with clarification in connection with the killing of KRA chief Khuplam Hangsing at Delhi, whether they knew those who are languishing in the Tihar jail in connection with the killing, when, where and in which meeting KRA (U) had been founded, how many resolutions had been adopted in the said meeting, who were elected as the office bearers in the first general meeting of KRA (U) and how much money KNO has taken from which party to destroy KRA (U).
While clarification that Solomon Chongloi is the president and not David, Alen Kom (vice president), W Linkon (general secre-tary), Lenin Ch (publicity secretary), Hills Ch (finance secretary), Brandon (depu-ty finance secretary) and Polash (project officer) of KRA (U), Lenin said all these office bearers are recognised by the North East media.
There is no one by the name of Joss, Ch Robinson, Albart, Tongam and Rona in KRA (U), he said while declaring that KRA (U) would not be responsible if any of these persons were rounded up and punished by the people when they collect money from them.
The publicity secretary of KRA (U) further said that Lenin H of KNO is not known to KRA (U) nor KRA (U) had send any feeler to KNO in connection with joining the Suspension of Operation as there is no question of entering the Suspension of Operation under KNO.
Even if KRA (U) wants to enter, it would not be done under KNO at all, the publicity secretary said, asking how much money had been taken from the self-styled KRA (U) by Lenin H of KNO to reaffirm alleged joining of the 12the unit in the Suspension of Operation under KNO.
Instead of encouraging self-syled KRA (U), KNO should do something ood of its own and stay away from interfering in the affairs of KRA (U). KRA (U) would always remains as KRA (U) and even if it has to join the Suspension of Operation, it would be done only after giving befitting lesson to all the impostors, the publicity secretary said.
