Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): Following the statement of AICC general secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi that Manipur’s territorial integrity will not be altered, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee today said it is for integration.
“In consonance with the wishes and aspiration of the Naga people, the Nagaland Congress party joined hands with other state political parties in unanimously passing four resolutions for integrations of all Naga-inhabited areas in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly” the NPCC stated in a note from its media cell chairman R Paphino. “The Nagaland Congress party is part and parcel of those resolutions” it said. Further, the NPCC said, in its 2008 election manifesto it was pledged to the Naga people that the party would continue to urge upon the Government of India the need to implement the 16-point agreement of 1960 in letter and spirit. “This election manifesto was released with due approval of All Indian National Congress (AICC). The NPCC stands to ensure that the ardent desire and aspiration of the Naga people is fulfilled and there is no ambiguity as far as this issue is concerned” the NPCC added.
NSCN (IM) USR on defection
Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): The “united Sangtam region” of the NSCN (IM) in Kiphire has clarified over the reported 11 cadres joining the “GPRN/NSCN”.
A note issued by the ‘USR’, claimed that the public of the area had complained against Chopongse “as he was serving as a carpenter at GMS Kichang” and that as per the “GPRN order” of ‘one-man one-post’, he was asked to explain twice whether he will serve as a “national worker” or as a government employee.
The USR also alleged that Chopongse would collect taxes without any “authority or assignment” and for his “self-benefit” with “false signature”. The ‘clarification’ also claimed that Chopongse would “complain and give false allegation to the USR authorities”.
As such it was claimed that “in the interest of the public”, the USR discharged Chopongse on March 24, 2009 and that “other authorities who went along with him were misguided”.
With regard to allegations made against TT Among, “Lota kilonser” and “horticulture”, the USR clarification termed them as baseless. Among was a kilonser of the NSCN (IM) and not only for USR, the note said. “The administration lies in the hand of the CAO of a region and not the Kilonser”, it clarified while cautioning that such false allegation will not be tolerated in the future.
On the allegations against one Thronglise Sangtam, ‘SO’, the ‘USR’ note said that till today it did not know of such habit and termed it as false allegation. The ‘USR’ clarified that the rank and file of those who left the organization were in total ten and not as reported in the media. According to the note the ten names are ‘leacys’ Chopongse, and Tsapio; ‘khapurs’ Chotrikyu, Limicho and Sejongli; ‘Informer “not appointed”’ Ananchu and Kyuritong; “Lt” Leise, “sgt mj” Leose and “PT” Tsilise. Due to all these “faults”, Chopongse “defected to another faction”, the USR said and asked him not to ‘publish false allegation in the near future’.
