New Delhi: A high-profile prostitution racket was busted by the south district police after the arrest of five Uzbekistan call girls, along with a pimp Farida (42), on Tuesday in Lajpat Nagar.

The police claimed to have been informed about a foreign national involved in supply of girls, operating from Part II of Lajpat Nagar. The cops also learnt that the racket provided in-house facility on extra payment.

“We deployed a decoy customer and a deal was struck to provide two girls for an agreed amount by the pimp. The decoy customer reached Lajpat Nagar Central Market near Liliput Showroom. From there he was taken to a flat in Lajpat Nagar,’’ said DCP (south) Anil Shukla.

He added: ‘‘When the decoy customer paid up, the pimp offered five Uzbek girls to choose. The customer signalled the police party waiting outside the flat, after which five girls and the pimp were arrested.’’

The five were arrested under various sections of Immoral Trafficking Act and Foreigners Act.

The interrogation revealed that the girls used to visit India for short duration for the purpose of prostitution. They used to hire independent floor in posh areas of Delhi and build their clientele.

The pimp — Nagina — is absconding and according to police he had arranged this flat from a local property dealer. The police said it is being checked whether the landlord got his tenants verified or not.
