Manipur Day at IITF draws huge crowd

NEW DELHI, Nov 26 – The Manipur Day celebration organized at Lal Chowk Theatre in the Pragati Maidan on Sunday as part of the India International Trade Fair drew a huge crowd.

The rhythmic and elegant Manipuri Ras and heart-throbbing Manipuri martial arts enthralled the audience at the cultural evening. Manipur Pavilion at the fortnight-long Fair commencing from November 14, displayed the best handloom and handicraft products of Manipur.

Rose Haokip of Manipur Cultural Group from Senapati district displayed handicraft items like wall hanging, flower vase, glass paintings and jewelry items; S Remember of Ukhrul district pottery items; Meri Gold Renkai SHG, from Churachandpur district dry flowers and Mangang handicrafts, Moreh, wood carving and carpentry items.

Department of Sericulture, displayed sericulture items, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation exhibited agro-food products and medicinal plants. Manipur handloom and handicraft development Corporation Ltd sold handloom and handicrafts products.
