IMPHAL, Dec 2: In a significant step towards implementing a special package sanctioned under Indira Awaz Yojana for construction of 1500 houses for displaced people of Khengjoy Block in Chandel district, RD and PR Minister Md Allaudin Khan and Chandel A/C MLA Thangkholun Haokip distributed GI sheets to the beneficiaries at Khangbarol on November 19.
Speaking at the occasion, Allaudin Khan stated that the Government has been implementing various schemes like NREGS, BRGF, AAY, Indira Awaz Yojana etc in the hill districts too. Informing about the possibility of the Rs one crore sanctioned for construction of SDO/BDO office for Khengjoy Block getting lapsed in case the sanctioned amount is not utilised at the earliest, Allaudin Khan said that the Government has decided to build the SDO/BDO office at Khangbarol.
He further said that construction of Khengjoy road will be taken up shortly with the Rs 3.5 crores sanctioned for the same purpose earlier. The Government would sanction Rs 50 crores for development of transport infrastructure in Chandel district next year, the Minister added. Hailing SPF Government as a Govt concerned with the welfare of hill districts, MLA Thangkholun Haokip called upon village chiefs to help utilise funds sanctioned by the Government under different schemes properly so as to make Chandel district a progressive district. The function was also attended by the Chandel DC, Director RD and PR, BDO Khengjoy Block and other district level officers and village chiefs.
KSO clarifies
IMPHAL, Dec 2: Referring to the news report published under the heading “CCpur villages remain steep in underdevelopment” on November 19 issue, the Kuki Students’ Organisation, Henglep sub-division has clarified that there is no passenger bus service in the sub-division. The only means of transport is Shaktiman truck, it asserted.
The student body also observed that construction of roads and culverts in the sub-division is making little progress.
Applications invited
IMPHAL, Dec 2: Applications have been invited from male citizens of all States including those employed as temporary central/state government servants and serving personnel of the three armed forces (Army, Navy and Air Force) including Territorial Army for admission to the 109 Technical Graduate Course (July 2009) and 33 Short Service Commission (Technical) Course (October 2009).
Application forms and details may be obtained from Employment News 1-7 November, 2008 or from www.indianarmy.gov.in, informed a PIB (DW) release.
Recruitment rally
IMPHAL, Dec 2: Army Recruitment Office, Silchar will be organising recruitment rally at DSA ground, Hailakandi (South Assam) from December 3 to 11. Candidates of Manipur who are eligible for Soldier Technical and Soldier Nursing Assistant can also participate in the rally on December 8, informed a PIB (DW) release.
