‘Satan worshippers’ attempt to abduct infant

Aizawl: ‘Satan worshippers’ are suspected to be behind an alleged attempt to abduct a five-month-old infant at Zotlang locality here on February 11 last. Around noon, on that day, Nancy Lalduhomi was terrified to find that her child had gone missing while she was away in another room doing household chores, an FIR submitted to the police on Tuesday said.

''I immediately ran out of the house and saw two people one of whom was holding the baby. As I cried out, the man handed me back my baby without any resistance,'' Nancy said to police.

However, shocked and terrified, she failed to notice their faces and rushed back to her house. She informed her husband Lalduhoma and family members of the incident, but they did not take it seriously until they received a threat letter pinned on their door the following morning.

The letter warned Lalduhoma that his wife and his family would suffer the consequences of refusing to give them his child. Interestingly, the letter bore three stars (said to be signs of Satan’s worshippers) underneath of which 666 were inscribed.

Satan’s worshippers had made their presence felt in the Christian-dominated state of Mizoram about four years back. (UNI)
