IMPHAL, Nov 21 – The Medical Directorate of Manipur came to a standstill on Thursday in protest against heavy monetary demands made on the department.
Decrying the heavy monetary demand, employees of the Medical department staged a sit-in protest in front of its office gate at Lamphel on Thursday.
Official sources informed that from the day he became the Director, disturbances and monetary demands have been frequent. However, the department decided on the sit-in-protest as a huge demand of Rs 50 lakh was served a few days back, the director said.
