Christmas wishes from all corners

Lamka, Dec 23: Greeting the people with the advent of Christmas and New Year, the armed outfit Kuki National Organisation on December 22 said it is very well aware of the fragile and slow peace talks between the GOI and various insurgent groups, and promise to willingly oblige the popular voice of the people if it is not in favour of the ongoing SoO.

Appealing Kuki chur-ches to intercede for pea- ceful solution on the plight of the Kukis on the birthday of the ‘Prince of Peace’ a Christmas and New Year message of the outfit issued by its Secretary Info & Pub. Lenin H Kuki said, his organization is very much aware of the of the pathetic social, economic and political trauma face by the Kuki people today.

The statement that claimed to share the hardship face by majority of the jhum dependent farmers and their families due to the rodent menace said it is pained to see that many poor masses fails to afford even a second hand clothes, those that fails to donate Christmas funds and certain donation, and those churches who could not celebrate it with a grand community feast due to financial constrain.

In such a pathetic state it would be hard to experience real peace of mind and celebrate Christmas in its true spirit, yet despite it, the KNO appeals in the name of the ‘Prince of Peace’ to all ‘to keep the faith, seek the Lord and open our hearts’, so that the misery that besiege them could some day become a thing of the past.

Making starkly clear the national movement would be a fish out of water without people’s co-operation, the organization said in the hope of peaceful settlement to their legitimate demands and democratic aspirations it had entered into SoO with the government. One the other hand, it claimed that the organization is very well aware of the pace of the peace talks the GOI has with various insurgent groups and that they would not hesitate to oblige if the po-pular voice of the Kuki peo- ple is not satisfied or not in favour of the ongoing SoO.
