Unidentified militants on Sunday exploded a bomb inside the high-security Raj Bhavan complex in Manipur, police said. Governor Gurbachan Jagat was, however, not inside the Raj Bhavan when the incident happened, as he is currently in New Delhi.
The bomb exploded at about 5.45 pm but there was no casualty or damage to property during the blast.
Police said the militants lobbed a grenade inside the Raj Bhavan complex from a place near south eastern wall of the complex that borders the State Central Library.
A grenade lever and a pin have been recovered from the blast site, they said adding a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
Following the incident, a huge contingent of police was deployed in the area.
