KOHIMA, Dec 22 – The three-day 4th ‘Naga Peace Summit’ under the banner of Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) held at Chiang Mai in Thailand concluded on Saturday with participation from representatives of NSCN-K, NNC/FGN and Naga National Workers People Support Group, Quakers, American Baptist, and Naga church leaders.
However, the NSCN-IM did not participate in the reconciliation meet. A press release issued by FNR, said that since the Naga Peace Summit III, several public events have taken place and brought people together in strengthening the Naga reconciliation process while the fourth summit was a time of reflection and grounding.
The reconciliation process continues to be a challenging and daunting task because it involves recognizing, acknowledging and overcoming how Nagas have profoundly harmed each other. For genuine reconciliation to be realized, Nagas have to honestly and non-violently address their differences, it said. - NEWMAI NEWS NETWORK
