Senapati, Dec 20: Almost all the titles of the Seven Sisters Miss Barak 2008 contest have gone to competitors from the neighboring Nagaland state with 23-year old Nothono Kraho of Nagaland being crowned Miss Barak in the prestigious pageant organised by the Youth Hope Foundation, YHF, at the district mini indoor staduim, Senapati yesterday evening.
The beauty pageant was the first of its kind in the state and open to the entire the north eastern states and had the theme, "Peace through culture and identity". Among the prominent sponsors were Nokia.

Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency MP, Mani Cheranamei was chief guest of the evening.
Among the winners, 23-year old Elileno Tsiikrii and 24-year old Anita Lama, both hailing from Kohima, won the 1st and 2nd runners up titles of the contest last night.
The Seven Sisters Miss Barak, 2008 Nothono Kraho was crowned by Mani Cheranamei who also presented the cash award of Rs. 1 lakh and a citation to the winner, followed by the first and second runners up who were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 50,000, and Rs. 30,000 respectively along with citations.
The show was also enlivened by the performance of modern and traditional dances along with musical bonanza coutesy, Guru Rewen Moshangva and On The Verge rock band from Imphal.
The contest was participated by 15 contestants from Manipur and Nagaland state.
Imphal Free Press editor, Pradip Phanjoubam moderator and all except one of the five judges, were from Imphal.
They were, N Ibungochoubi of Manipur Mail, Mrs. Rose Mangsi, Mrs RK. Devi (both retired lecturers), Amar Yumnam (Manipur University) and Maj. Chettri from the Army.
Meanwhile, the security personnel at Senapati district headquarters had a hard time controlling the heavy turnout of spectators, including from the neighboring Nagaland state, who braved the mid winter chill to watch the event.
The show organisers said this will be an annual event.
