Imphal, May 04 2009: On the recommendation of the its technical committee, the AMFA has selected 12 players playing in other States and eight others playing at different clubs in the State to represent Manipur in the 63rd National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy 2009 in Tamil Nadu.
The selected players include Goal Keepers : S Lokeshore (Assam Rifles), S Basant (NEROCA) and Y Surchandra (NISA) .
Defenders : Kh Jiban (East Bengal), Syed Fareed (Air India), Samananda (Sporting Club De Goa), A Raju Mangang (Churchill Brothers), Benjamin Kamson (NISA), S Thomas (NEROCA) and H Deban (NEROCA) .
Midfielders : Khenthang Paite (Churchill Brothers), Bisheshwor (Sporting Club De Goa), R Vasum (Churchill Brothers), Chitrasen (Churchill Brothers), Sabir Ali (TRAU) and M Bidyasagar (NISA).
Strikers : Subhas (Air India), Joychandra (Sporting Club De Goa), M Bijen (Salgaocar) and N Jimmy (NISA).
The selected players should report to coach Dr Ksh Birbal daily at 8 am from May 5 at Khuman Lampak with training kits for further training, said an AMFA release.
Meanwhile it has been notified that inter-State transfer of players (1st window) may be done between June 1 and 30, inter-district transfer between June 1 and 7 and inter-club between June 8 and 14 .
