Manipur State lass makes it to Gr A in Civil Service

IMPHAL, May 6:Doing the State proud, Bidyarani Konthoujam has made it to the Group A category after passing the Civil Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the IAS, IFS, IPS and allied services Group A and Group B.

Bagging the 494th position out of 791 candidates declared successful by the UPSC after the gruelling Prelims, Main and Interview, Bidyarani has an outstanding academic record.

Born to Konthoujam Ranjit Singh of Sega Road, Thouda Bhabok Leikai, an AE in the State Electricity Department and K ongbi Sushila, an employee in the PWD, Bidyarani passed her Class X examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur in 1996 from Little Flower School securing the 17th position. After her class X she went to Doon Public School, Delhi where in the class XII, she bagged the 3rd position in CBSE, Delhi region. Bidyarani then joined Ramjas College, Delhi University and graduated with 1st class in Zoology Honours.

Thereafter she did MSc Forestry where again she came out with flying colours with first class. This was the third attempt for Bidyarani and her main paper at the Civil Services examination was Geography with English and Manipuri as optionals.
