Lamka, Nov 11: The Indian Army is planning a three-day mega celebration to mark the year’s Children’s Day at Thanlon, a release made by 12 Madras Regiment said today. Intended to give the students an exposure to the competitive world, to encourage them and to inculcate in them a sense of brotherhood and friendship, the Commanding Officer, 12 Madras Col ASN Rao is planning the mega event that will commence on the evening of 11 November, said the release.
Volley ball, Quiz, Drawing and Painting, Fancy Dress and Cultural Evening will be the main competition in which above 350 students and 12 Youth Clubs from 12 remote villages in the interior sub-divisions of Thanlon and Tipaimukh will chip in. Besides, the young lads and tiny tots will get a treat with a 20x16 ft projector with movies shown every afternoon. For some who hails from the remotest part of the region they will get to see electricity, street lights and computers, said the release.
