Imphal, February 12 2009: The State government is planning to take up 17 Wind Solar Hybrid Projects and Micro Hydel Power Projects in the hill districts of the state. North Eastern Council (NEC) has been requested for fund assistance in taking up the projects, an official source said today.
Out of the 17 projects, the Centre has sanctioned an amount of Rs 140.70 lakh including Rs.70,000 for preparation of feasibility report of seven Wind Solar Hybrid Projects, an intimation by the state Planning Department indicated while requesting the NEC to provide funding for these projects by allotting Rs 217.60 lakh as grant during the year 2008-09 .
Of the seven projects, four are to be taken up in Senapati district, one each at the Mao Potato Farm, at Tadubi, at Sangkumai village, at Assam Rifles camp Senapati, two in Chandel district, both at Tengnoupal including one at Assam Rifles camp and the remaining one at Phungyar in Ukhrul district.
The estimated cost of each project targeting generation of 10 KV electricity is Rs 54.54 lakh and the total estimated cost of the seven projects is Rs 381.78 lakh, the source said.
Manipur government wants to share Rs 140 lakh with Manipur Renewable Energy, state government's implementing agency and Rs 217 lakh by NEC and the remaining Rs 24.178 lakh as 10 percent state share of the NEC component.
The other ten projects are Micro Hydel Power Projects having a capacity of generation of 50 to 200 kw.
Of the ten projects, five are to be located at Gelnei, Haipi and Iru Lok of Senapati district while three are to be located at Ramphelkhong, Khayukhong, Chadongkong and Maraki Korii in Ukhrul district and the remaining one will be located at Moukhang village of Churachnadpur district.
The total estimated cost of the ten projects is Rs 1549.52 lakhs.
Manipur government wanted to take up the project with Rs 1394.57 funding from the NEC and the remaining Rs.154 lakhs by the state government as state share.
The state planning department has made the request the NEC for funding during the current financial year 2008-09, the source said.
