Village Defence Force recruitment from Feb 15, 2009

IMPHAL, Feb 7: The Manipur police department has formally announced that 1550 members of the Village Defence Force will be recruited in a process starting from February 15, 2009. The director general of police, Y Joykumar Singh has notified that the new recruits will be required alongside the regular police personnel at the police stations and outposts with each member getting a monthly remuneration of Rs. 3000 per month.

The engagement of the recruits will be initially for a period of one year which can be extended subsequently. They will be required to undergo basic police training for a period of one month after which they will be deployed along with the regular police personnel at the police stations and outposts.

The number of recruits for the force to be raised district-wise are 350 for the Imphal west district, 350 for the Imphal east district, 350 for the Bishnupur district and 500 for Thoubal district.

The recruitment process is to start from February 15 this year at the 2nd Bn. Manipur Rifles ground for Imphal west district, Ground of MPTS, Pangei for Imphal east district, BASU ground in Thoubal for Thoubal district and Mini stadium ground at Bishnupur for Bishnupur district.

The application forms for enrolment in the Village Defence Force will be available at the offices of the respective superintendent of police of the district from Febraury 10 as a cost of Rs. 50 per form.

The candidates should be 18 to 30 years of age as on Febraury 1, 2009, have a height of 5'2" and be Class VIII passed.

RECRUITMENT

IMPHAL, Feb 7: An Assam Rifles recruitment rally was conducted at Chassad in Ukhrul district from February 2 to 6 after a gap of nearly nine years at the behest of the IGAR(S) and commander HQ 10 Sector. The rally was successfully conducted by the 12 Assam Rifles.
A total of 400 candidates participated and finally 117 appeared for the written tests clearing the physical standards. The rally was well organised and the locals lauded the efforts of the 12 Assam Rifles for having conducted it smoothly.
