IMPHAL, May 13: Reasser-ting its observation about some wayward Kuki elements collaborating with security forces against the people of Manipur, particularly Meiteis, the proscribed UNLF questioned as to why KSO Churachandpur felt wounded to the core. “Was it because they (KSO Churachandpur) were also involved in such wicked activities?”, the UNLF asked. In a press release, the outfit’s senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba clarified that the UNLF’s statement was not some propaganda targeted at Kuki community just to flare up communal passion.
It was only exposing what some Kukis were undertaking in cahoot with security forces.
One hard evidence of the UNLF’s assertion was the involvement of Doukhongchung Touthang (1st MR Rifleman No 08200019) s/o Gilkhong of Yaingangpokpi but staying at Langol Games Village and Th Lan-gel (Commando Rifleman No 0615033) s/o late Piyangthang of New Lamka, Dorgas Road in the killing of ex-MPA (No 0894) Pte Oinam Chingthouba alias Kabi-chandra alias Muthi s/o O Nilachandra of Pishum Oin-am Leikai.
This was a clear case of security forces using wick-ed Kukis in killing Meiteis.
Asserting that some leaders of Kuki armed groups acting against the liberation movement of Manipur by collaborating with security forces was no longer a secret, the UNLF defined “wicked Kukis” as those leaders who could sell off their own brothers in pursuit of their selfish ends.
The outfit reiterated that those wicked Kuki elements have severely tarnished the image of Kuki community.
Noting that such wicked elements exist among all the communities of Manipur, the outfit clarified it did not view such wicked elements on communal lines.
The UNLF saw them as collaborators of security forces and took up actions accordingly.
This line perception on those wicked elements and their activities harboured no communal or discriminatory attitude. This was based on the outfit’s principle of “co-existence, co-development” of all communities of Manipur, the UNLF explained.
Reacting to the allegation of Assam Rifles PRO that UG groups being extortionists, drug dealers and smugglers was testified by UG leaders and their families becoming richer and richer, the outfit countered that there were many evidences against Assam Rifles involvement in ganja smuggling, enacting surrender drama after luring youths with the false promise of providing jobs, dubbing innocent civilians as murderers after murdering them.
The outfit also accused AR of being instrumental in forming gangs and encouraging such gangs to indulge in extortion besides looting money from innocent people after accusing them of having relations with insurgents.
These days, Assam Rifles have been making false claims of arresting/killing people from/at Moreh after the victims were picked up from Imphal. But such practices of the AR could not befool the people of Manipur, it asserted.
Sparking off ethnic conflict and polarisation of hill and valley people were parts of the various alleged conspiracies hatched by security forces to submerge Manipur under the alien rule forever.
The wounds of Naga-Kuki and Kuki-Paite clashes, allegedly triggered by the ploys of security forces have not been completely healed yet.
At present, the security forces have been scheming to set up hill people against the valley people, particularly against the UNLF which has been waging a liberation struggle for a united Manipur.
The outfit further exhorted KSO Churachandpur unit not to fall victim to the trap laid by security forces and also to stop acting as propaganda machine of security forces.
