A 28-year-old man identified as Zamlianpau of New Lamka was killed by suspected militants at Kamdou Veng, about 2 kms north east of Churachandpur PS early on December 7, 2008, reports our correspondent. Police sources said the youth who bore multiple marks of bullet injuries and torture was picked up along the Khuga River at Kamdou Veng at around 7.30 am today. Though it is not clear who the perpetrators might be, a source in the state forces on condition of anonymity quoted intelligence sources as saying that some UGs are behind the killing. The body was handed over to the family members after post mortem was conducted later in the day.
