‘White Lion’ to perform in Shillong

SHILLONG, Dec 9 – These Lions don’t only roar but also rock and are visibly hungry to have an encounter with the people here. “We have heard a lot about the people here, how they love rock music and we are keen to meet them,” roared Mike Tramp, founder and front man of the internationally renowned rock band the “White Lion”.

White Lion is better known for their all time hits such as ‘When the Children Cry’, ‘You are all I Need’ and ‘Till Death do us Apart’, is performing this time together with Firehouse.

The band landed at the picturesque helipad at Upper Shillong today, a good three days ahead of their scheduled gig here on December 13.

“We want to acclimatize and also interact with the local people here whom we heard are ardent rock fans,” EJ Curse (Bass man of Silent Rage) currently touring with the White Lion said.

Besides Tramp and Curse, White Lion comprises of Troy Patrick Farrel (Ex-Warrant, GNR, Poison) on Drums, Jamie Law on Guitars (Return of the Pride) and Henning Wanner on Keyboards.

The mega concert is being organized in aid of Providence School an institution established by the Irish Brothers of St Edmund’s School helping underprivileged children of the city.

The organizers have committed that a substantial chunk of the proceeds from the concert will be donated to facilitate clean and safe drinking water for the children of Providence School.

“It’s amazing to be here in the hills. I never knew India was like this and I feel totally rejuvenated”, Tramp explained about his first impression of Meghalaya.
