Bangalore, Dec 13 (ANI): Repeat whatever I say ok, yes sir repeated the pupils. " I will lead an honest life free from all corruption and will set an example for others to adopt a transparent way of life," said former President A P J Abdul Kalam while inaugurating an orientation camp for first-time legislators in Karnataka.
During a three day orientation camp organized by Karnataka Government and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), Dr. Kalam in his usual style prepared himself to teach these batches of MLAs and MLCs on good governance, constituency management and other critical issues concerning development.
Talking to media Dr. Kalam said that this orientation programmes was an important tool to promote development.
Kalam is keen that other State governments should introduce similar programmes. Further, he has his own take on rooting out terrorism. His suggestion is that the United Nations should create a force to counter terrorism.
Talking to ANI one of the first timer from Jayanagara constituency of Bangalore, Vijayakumar felt that he felt like a student listening to Kalam Sir.
A Minister in BS Yeddiyurappa cabinet, Shobha Karandajle said Abdul Kalam inspired her and she became a student.
State Transport Minister R Ashok said he was just inspired by the speech and felt it was the need of the hour.
"Kalam sir no doubt inspired these batches of leaders, but one has to really wait and watch whether these courses have any effect at all," he added. (ANI)
